I like making things. It’s an outlet for my inherent creativity. I like taking apart things that other people have made and fixing things that don’t work. It gives me a real buzz. But over the last couple of decades I haven’t had much time to do these things.
In the past I have been involved in various altruistic exercises. When my daughter was very young a teacher asked the kids in her class to describe what their dads did. My daughter said ‘He saves the world’. After years of trying to ‘save the world’ I decided that I was just bashing my head against a brick wall and gave up.
Recently there have been a number of trends that combine technology and altruism. It’s time to rekindle my passion for both of them.
